OVERVIEW: PROJECT FUNDS AVAILABLE:

The following Grants for programming/projects are available:

$25,000 total to support Organizational Grant Projects in the amount of minimum $5,000 to possible maximum $8,000. We encourage projects to encompass a focus on multi culturalism and partnerships, with programming for youth related to one of the social injustice issues below or addresses multiculturalism by two or more.

$25,000 total Artist Grants in the amount of $2,500 each

The midtownHOU Arts Micro Grants total $50,000 to be distributed in a variety of increments to individual artists and arts organizations who are located in Houston, TX and willing to collaborate to bring multi-cultural engaging projects to the Midtown, Houston community. We are asking that you reach out to an organization or artists you might not work with on a regular basis and create deep thoughtful programming that engages and teaches.

This call for projects/programming is open to all Houston art organizations, Houston area professional artists or artist teams and designers who are willing to support, uplift and partner to address artistically the issues of:

Social Injustice

1 – Voting

2 – Climate Change

3 – Healthcare

4 – Refugee Crisis and Immigration

5 – Body Autonomy

6 – Racial Injustice

7 – Gun Violence

8 – LGBTQ+

The following multi-cultural mediums should be used to develop partnerships that create engaging programs or projects to address the social injustice issues listed above.

Multi-Cultural Mediums

1 - Music

2 - Dance

3 - Theatre

 4 -Visual Arts

5 - Creative Writing

The goal is to fund more than just a onetime project – we are hopeful these projects will start small, get legs, and grow into ongoing projects. Especially the projects centered around youth. Our hope is this will become more than a temporary public art project or program.
