The Work of Our Hands -Year of St Joseph

Call for Entry:

This juried exhibition hosted by The Angelico Project is to showcase excellent and beautiful contemporary artwork honoring laborers, fatherhood and family in this Year of St Joseph.

Our rich heritage of western art includes innumerable images of St Joseph. His strong and vital example of a heroic life of virtue and faith is a much-needed light to us. Contemporary art, if it is excellent and beautiful, will promote the Truth of his life of silence and work, his vigor, his courage, his role as guardian of the Word and his example of a just man, a man in love with Beauty, entrusted with the care of the Holy Family.

Submitted artwork should evidence elements of Goodness, Truth and Beauty; witness to the dignity of the human person; attest to the reality of the spiritual life; and demonstrate mastery of the artist’s medium.

Subjects sought (but not limited to) include scenes from the life of the Holy Family, images of Fatherhood, and depictions of St Joseph’s virtues and attributes, especially his titles in the Litany of St Joseph.
