Online Exhibition Only
The theme of B Extraordinaire’s online, juried exhibit is luminosity. B Extraordinaire Gallery invites you to create 2-D works that glow from within and shine bright. Luminosity is the state of emitting or reflecting bright light, most often light that comes from within, light that makes its source/subject visually distinct and clear like dappled light in the forest, sparks of light in a night sky, sunlight simmering on the water, or light reflecting on a face. Let the intensity, purity, and vibrations of light strike a chord on the body and the mind. Immerse us with light.
The online exhibition will run from October 1- November 30, 2021.
DEADLINE for Submission is September 3, 2021.
All artists 18 years and older are eligible to enter. The call is open to national artists. Work must be 2-D original art completed within the past 3 years, not copied from published photos or the work of other artists.
Serving as co-Jurors for this exhibition are Carol Ferring Shepley and Virginia Becker.
Carol Ferring Shepley is the author of seven books. She is a retired professor of art history and a former art critic for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Virginia Becker earned her Masters’ degree in Art History from American University and has worked at Christie’s, Guarisco Gallery in Washington, DC, and the National Gallery of Art. She co-owns Terra Innovations which specializes in high-end home design.
Selected entries will be notified by September 22, 2021.
Jurors will award cash prizes of $150 for Best of Show, $75 Second Place, and $50 Third Place, as well as an official award certificate for achievement.
