THE EXHIBITION: As part of an ongoing commitment to promote the visual arts, Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery (EWCG) invites current and former Visual Art Education Professionals to submit entries for this national juried exhibition to showcase the arts as an essential part of a complete education, no matter if it happens in the home, school, or community. That students of all ages—from kindergarten to college to creative aging programs—benefit from artistic learning, innovative thinking, and creativity. Celebrating the Arts in Education with this national exhibition and virtual events is a way to recognize the impact of visual arts and share the message that “the Arts matter.”

 This eight-week gallery exhibition will have two parts.  The physical gallery exhibitions at both locations and then an on-line exhibition. All selected artists will exhibit on-line.  The exhibition jurors will select the works to be exhibited in the galleries. Such an exhibition demonstrates the continued significance of contemporary art through both conventional and innovative methods and materials. Listings and information of selected work will include the educational institution or school system of the artists.

SPECIFICATIONS: Artists may submit a maximum of three original works of art that have been completed within the last three years and have not been exhibited before in Cumberland County. Size of work may not be smaller than 12” x 12” or larger than 48” x 60” including frame. All works must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang. No saw tooth hangers. All works must be sturdy enough to withstand handling and exhibition works requiring extraordinary installation will be declined.

SALES: 30% commission on all sales. All work should be available for purchase.

JURORS:

Image selection juror: Artist Dwight Smith, MFA, Associate Professor of Visual Arts, Department of Performing and Fine Arts at Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Exhibition Juror: Artist educator Soni Martin, MFA, Professor of Art, Department of Performing and Fine Arts at Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, North Carolina

 ONLINE IMAGE SUBMISSIONS: Submissions accepted beginning August 20, 2021, via CaFE (Call for Entry) at There is no additional fee to use the CaFE online application system. All entries must be uploaded using this online system. Please do not upload digital images that contain borders or text info that is not part of the original work. Entries must be received by Midnight, October 02, 2021 (Eastern Standard Time)

 ENTRY FEE: Each artist may submit up to three images for a non-refundable fee of $35. The entry fee does not cover shipping expenses. Credit cards are accepted forms of payment via the CaFE online submission process.

 AGREEMENT: Submission of an entry to The Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant to all the conditions set forth in this prospectus. Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery reserves the right to reproduce accepted entries for publicity and promotional purposes. Accepted work that differs from the digital juried image may be excluded from the exhibition.

 ACCEPTED WORKS: Accepted works must arrive ready to install by October 16, 2021. Work received outside of this timeframe may not be exhibited. The Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery reserves the right to exclude any work that is not professionally presented. All works must remain on display for the entire exhibition.

 SHIPPED WORKS: Ship to Arts Council Fayetteville/Cumberland County, 301 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301. All work must be packed in reusable containers. DO NOT use Styrofoam peanuts when packing artwork. Artwork should be shipped prepaid via UPS, USPS or FedEx, and must be accompanied with a prepaid return-shipping label. COD deliveries will not be accepted.

 HAND DELIVERIES: Arts Council Fayetteville/Cumberland County, 301 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301, during normal operating hours Wednesday - Saturday, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm., At the end of the exhibition, hand delivered entries may be picked up November 23 - 25, 2020 during normal business hours. Accepted work left for 30 days after the designated return dates will be disposed of at the discretion of the gallery.

                               from 9:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

     • Return Shipping: By Saturday, December 18th.
