Rates for Registration are: $35 for the first entry, $15 for each additional entry, with a total of five entries permitted per artist. Wickford Art Association members in-good-standing will be provided with a 30% Coupon Code by e-mail or phone: (401) 294-6840.

Selection of Work: Following the close of the registration period, all submitted works will be reviewed by the exhibit jurist anonymously.  This jury for entry will result in the curated exhibit. Submitting work does not guarantee entry.  Determination of acceptance will be sent by email on February 4, 2022; notification will come from CallForEntry.org directly and all future communications from WAAexhibits@gmail.com.  To prevent these messages from landing in spam/junk mail folders, please program this address in your e-mail contacts.  E-mails will be sent to the address listed on your CaFE Artist Profile-- please double check that this information has been accurately entered and updated.

All work presented at WAA must comply with our Exhibit Registration Guidelines, posted online at: https://wickfordart.org/exhibits/. Please review these guidelines to ensure artwork meets the size and preparation for presentation standards of the Wickford Art Association.

Delivery of Accepted Works: Accepted work can be hand-delivered to 36 Beach Street, North Kingstown, RI 02852 on Tuesday: April 5, 2022 (noon-6pm), Wednesday: April 6, 2022 (noon-3pm).  If shipping work, accepted artists will be provided with a UPS Store address in Rhode Island and work should be scheduled for delivery between Monday: March 28, 2022 and Monday: April 4, 2022. All shipped work must include pre-paid postage for return shipment and a $15 per package handling fee to offset cost of repacking and storage. Upon delivery, artists will be asked to confirm information provided at the time of registration including:

• Title of Work
• Medium
• Artist Name as it will appear on title card(s)
• Price
• Dimensions of work (height x width x depth-- if applicable)

Artists will have the option to revise this information at the time of delivery.  Installation is completed by WAA.

Awards: Following delivery of accepted works, the jurist will conduct a live jury for prizes. All work must be present to be considered for a prize.  Cash prizes will be awarded as follows:

• First Prize: $200
• Second Prize: $150
• Third Prize: $100
• Honorable Mentions (Two provided): $75

WAA will provide recognition through Constant Contact post announcing all prizes the evening of the exhibit opening. Targeted social media posts for individual artists receiving prizes with images of award-winning work. Prize listings on exhibit webpage at WickfordArt.org.

Artists who have been selected to receive an award will be notified by e-mail on Thursday: April 7, 2022 and encouraged to attend the opening reception at which time prize details will be revealed.

Opening Reception: An opening reception will be held on Friday: April 8, 2022 (5-7pm) with awards announced at 6:30pm.  Gallery capacity is limited to 75 guests; in good weather months, outdoor reception stations will be provided, but guests may be asked to wait outside until space is available in the interior of the gallery.

Sales: All work entered must be priced and available for purchase.  WAA retains 30% on all sales by member exhibitors, 40% on all sales by non-member exhibitors.  All artists will have the option to extend the sale period of exhibited work beyond the in-gallery exhibit by listing work at https://shop.wickfordart.org for a period of 3 months. Contracts for the WAA e-commerce platform will be provided prior to delivery of accepted work.  Artists commissions, 70% for members, 60% for non-members, are sent within 30 calendar days after the close of the fiscal quarter (in the months of April, July, October, and January).

Collection of Work: Work must remain in-gallery for the full duration of the exhibit.  All work should be collected on Tuesday: May 10, 2022 (noon-6pm); accommodations can be made for artists with a conflict if prior arrangements are made-- please e-mail WAAexhibits@gmail.com to request an alternate pick-up date/time. All shipped work will be returned the week of May 9, 2022.  All work to be listed on WAA’s e-commerce platform will also be collected by artists, who will retain physical custody of the artwork until it is sold or the contract period ends.

Promotion of Artists and Artwork: Upon registration, WAA requests artist social media handles or http://... addresses at which you can be found on Facebook and Instagram, etc.  We collect this information to promote your involvement in our exhibit. WAA often posts and connects to artists’ social media networks. This works most efficiently if all exhibiting artists connect with WAA on Facebook @wickfordartassociation and Instagram @wickfordart by LIKING or FOLLOWING our organization’s pages, and SHARING exhibit posts.

Liability - Legal Agreement & Participant’s Waiver: Submission of work automatically waives any claim for damage or loss against the participating building and business owners, Wickford Art Association, including the officers, members, employees, agents and volunteers. All participating artists are encouraged to carry personal liability insurance. WAA will exercise reasonable care in handling all artwork but will not assume any liability for loss or damage while in WAA’s possession. Work should be independently insured by the artist.

Usage Rights: The artist retains all copyright interests or claims that they have in their art. By submitting images, you give WAA the right to use and reproduce the images to promote and document the exhibition, and to enable the image to be part of a virtual gallery. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use.
