Wickford Art Association will launch its National 2022 Botanical Inspiration exhibit with Jurist: Lorraine Bromley, an accomplished watercolorist who resides in Rhode Island. Specializing in painting, design and photography, her work is directly related from experiences in the natural world—visual and emotional connections.  Her botanicals have been a constant subject matter during her 3-month stays (consecutively for 16 years) as an Artist-in-Residence in Costa Rica.

Botanical Inspiration is OPEN to non-members and members of the Wickford Art Association and across the continental United States.  This exhibit has no medium restriction, but all work should be inspired from botanical world: plants or plant parts valued for their medicinal or therapeutic properties, flavor, and/or scent; herbs are a subset of botanicals. Artists are encouraged to unleash their creativity and vision and we encourage you to share a sampling of your portfolio with up to 5 works per artist. With an in-gallery exhibit April 8, 2022 through May 8, 2022, a virtual gallery that will launch following opening weekend, and the opportunity to sell work for a three-month period following the exhibit through WAA’s online shop.

Serving as jurist to curate the exhibit and determine awards, Lorraine Bromley (lorrainebromley.com) is a fine artist, photographer and graphic designer. She believes that the practice of “ART” is a total experience, involving body, mind, and spirit, and that the practice of painting, drawing and observing only enhances one’s personal growth. She is an active member of Wickford Art Association, Spring Bull Gallery (Newport, RI), Providence Art Club, Rhode island Watercolor Society, Art League of Rhode Island, American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, New England Watercolor Society, Museum of Fine Art (Boston, MA), Newport Art Museum, and RISD Museum. Bromley also hosts Artist Retreats in the rugged, rain-forested Costa Rica, Central America.

All current WAA members will SAVE 30% on all exhibit entry fees—this code will be provided by email, but members-artists may contact the gallery at (401) 294-6840 for further information.  Please apply the coupon code beforecompleting your registration/payment for this exhibit; it cannot be applied after check-out.

Please review this prospectus carefully and consider submitting work if you can comply with the requirements and timetable outlined in this document.
