Block Real Estate Services, LLC, as the property developer and manager, is seeking multiple digital motion artwork pieces for display on 46 Penn Centre, a 14-story office building on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri, and The Offices at CityPlace, four office buildings in Overland Park, Kansas.
46 Penn Centre
Located at 4622 Pennsylvania Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri 46 Penn Centre is the newest multitenant office building located on the north side of the Country Club Plaza. It's architectural lighting elements include a 912 x 432 pixel LED display located at the top of the building (visible throughout the day and part of the night) on the south side and multiple linear and uplights (visible only during the night) on the south and east sides. The later sample from video played on the board to change colors creating a dynamic experience at night.
The Offices at CityPlace
Located at the intersection of US Highway 69 and College Boulevard in Overland Park, Kansas they will be a collection of four office buildings when completed. Currently CityPlace Corporate Centre I and III, at four-stories each, are completed with the other two planned at six-stories and currently under development. Each of these buildings has LED lights on two of their sides facing towards the highway and either south, for the two north buildings, or north, for the two south buildings. Visible throughout the night as a large display, during the day the upper glass appears the same as the rest of the building. Each building runs a unique video playlist, but pieces can be designed using timing to create the illusion of items jumping or flowing from one building to the next.
BRES is seeking artwork that can be displayed at both locations. As part of the purchase process we are requiring a 90 day exclusive use in the surrounding 100 miles. BRES would maintain usage rights on any purchased pieces for display at both locations without expiration. Once artwork is selected representatives of BRES will work with the artist on final video file submissions and purchase agreements.
Video files should be submitted in MP4 format. Minimum length is 30 seconds however longer videos are preferred.
Please do NOT submit work with text, logos, names, marketing of any kind, flashing or strobing effects.
Please DO include work with slower movements and transitions. Shorter pieces that can loop or longer pieces are ideal.
Please submit files at 1920 x 1080 for existing pieces. New pieces can be formatted with the below specs in mind for each location.
46 Penn Centre: 912 x 432 pixels
CityPlace Corporate Centre I: 1061 x 56 pixels. Left height is 27 pixels and right height is 26 pixels. The height rises to 56 pixels at the 303 (from left) mark which is also the corner of the building.
CityPlace Corporate Centre III: 1074 x 60 pixels. Left and right heights are 29 pixels. The height rises to 60 pixels at the 768 (from left) mark which is also the corner of the building.
CityPlace Corporate Centre II and IV have not been finalized and would need original 1920 x 1080 MP4 file to facilitate setup of video files when completed.
Applications will be reviewed at the END OF EACH MONTH through at least September 2022.
To be eligible for this call the submitter must own the exclusive rights to the pieces being submitted. Priority will be given to local/regional artists, however Block Real Estate Services, LLC is open to pieces submitted from around the world.
All materials must be received by 11:59:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (Kansas City, MO, USA) on the last day of the respective month. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered, but artists will be able to complete these submissions for the following month through the end of this call.
