Crooked Tree Arts Center, in Petoskey, Michigan, is now accepting submissions for the exhibition This Is Home.
US artists working throughout the Great Lakes region are invited to submit original works of art for the juried exhibition: This Is Home. Over the past two years, the way Americans spend their time has changed. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, people are spending more time at or near home, and they are spending more time alone. Considering this increased focus on home, this call asks artists to share works of art that reflect on the idea of “home.” Broad and diverse approaches to the theme are encouraged. Artists may submit works that define characteristics, evoke memories, or depict images of home. Open interpretations of home, including connections to place, community, family, and related themes, are also acceptable.
This exhibition is open to artists working in all media, including but not limited to painting, drawing, printmaking, fibers, metals, ceramics, sculpture, photography, audio, video, performance, installation, and more. Artists living and working in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, are eligible.
$1000 in prizes will be awarded.
Applicant Calendar:
- The exhibition will be on display in Petoskey’s Bonfield Gallery, January 15 - March 5, 2021.
- Submit entries online: October 13 - November 29, 2021.
- Notification will be sent by Tuesday, December 6, 2021.
- The artist is responsible for transporting work to and from Crooked Tree Arts Center (Petoskey), either through shipping or in-person drop-off and pick-up.
- Work must be delivered to Crooked Tree Arts Center (Petoskey) between January 3 - 8, 2022, during posted CTAC gallery hours. If shipping artwork, the artwork must arrive with a return shipping label.
- Unsold artwork must be picked up during gallery hours on March 8 - 14, or by appointment.
- Works delivered (with return shipping arrangements) will be sent by March 14, 2021.

This opportunity is open to United States residents, 18 years and older, who reside in the following states: Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Works must be original works of art. All media are eligible.
Awards
$1000 in prizes will be awarded. Three cash prizes will be awarded: First Place $500, Second Place $300, Third Place $200.
