Yeiser Art Center is now accepting entries for the FANTASTIC FIBERS 2022 international juried exhibition. One of Yeiser Art Center’s most engaging and innovative international exhibitions, FANTASTIC FIBERS seeks to showcase a wide range of outstanding contemporary works related to the fiber medium.

Contemporary and innovative works created with fiber as the primary medium or concept are welcome. This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and over working in the field of fiber art. All work submitted must be original, completed in the last three years and not previously exhibited in a FANTASTIC FIBERS exhibition. There are no size restrictions. Up to three separate pieces per artist are permitted with an entry fee of $45 to cover all entries. FANTASTIC FIBERS 2022 will be on display at Yeiser Art Center from April 19th to June 18th, 2022.
Artists may submit up to three distinct works, with one image for each, in their entry. The fee is $45 whether you enter one, two, or three artworks. Each submission can include up to three different works, with one image for each. All entries must be submitted at the same time. You cannot submit additional entries after you have completed the checkout process.

$2,000 will be awarded.
•    $1,000 Best of Show
•    $500 First Place
•    $300 Second Place

Sales will be encouraged where works are offered for purchase, but work need not be for sale to enter. Yeiser Art Center will keep a 40% commission on all gallery sales, so price your work accordingly. Work will be insured for the duration of the exhibition for the value of the work, or 60% of the retail price. Artists are responsible for insuring their work during transit to and from the Yeiser.

The show began in 1987 as a wearable art show but has evolved over the years to include a compelling mix of traditional and non-traditional works created from natural or synthetic fibers, and work that addresses the subject or medium of fiber.  Paducah becomes a Mecca for quilters and quilt enthusiasts each April as more than 30,000 visitors from across the globe attend AQS QuiltWeek.

JUROR: Matt Collinsworth
Matt Collinsworth became the new CEO of the National Quilt Museum during the summer of 2021.  Matt attended Georgetown College in central Kentucky and received his MFA from Ohio State.  He has been directing nonprofit organizations since 1998 and museum’s and other cultural organizations since 2003.  Matt has served as Director of the Kentucky Folk Art Center, Senior Director of Cultural Outreach at Morehead State University, Interim Director of the Lexington Art League, and Director of the National Music Museum.  Matt has curated and co-curated dozens of exhibitions that have appeared at museums and galleries across the country, including national and international traveling shows.
