Call Type: Public Art
Eligibility: National
State: Colorado
Budget: 12-15,000 per year

Fraser annually commissions and purchases a single sculpture between $7-10,000, and leases 2-3 more at $1,000 per work.  All are displayed outdoors, and the current plan is to continue to build towards a sculpture gallery in the center of town.   Leased works are available to be purchased at the end of the lease.   This call is for the years of 2022 and 2023 as separate opportunities.

The Public Art Committee of the Town will be the jury.  The PAC expressly does not want to confine artists to a specific theme as the intent of this effort is to bring a very diverse array of public art to the town (as evidenced by the current works, murals, and festivals).  That said, Fraser has a funky and irreverent tradition (there used to be a sign at the entry claiming "Leaving Planet Earth"), is the home to some of the world's best mountain biking and hiking trails, is a nordic and alpine skiing hub, is populated with fly fishing enthusiasts, has rich wildlife and ranching traditions, and has a rich history.  These themes, and those celebrating the native peoples and early explorers in the Middle Park region are some thought starters.

Application Requirements

Please provide at least three digital examples of your work and a sketch or representation of your concept, along with a narrative that indicates your timing and interest in either/both the lease or purchase program.

Share your history,  in the form of a resume or relevant link.

If appropriate, please identify other installations that you have done for outdoor public art works.

Eligibility Criteria

All artists are eligible.    While the bias has been towards cast sculptures, we are open minded to other media (ceramics, metals, etc).
