Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility:

Open to BIPOC & LGBTQ Artists, 18 years of age or older who reside or work in Prairie Village and/or Johnson County, Kansas. Artists who submit for this show should be BIPOC and/or LGBTQ, and submitted pieces may or may not reflect their cultural experiences, heritage, and identity.

A note about terminology: Black, Indigenous, and People of Color represent over 80% of the global population. PVAC acknowledges that BIPOC is a term used here for solidarity purposes representing a multiplicity of racial, ethnic, and cultural groups. The terms “BIPOC” and “LGBTQ” are imperfect and not universally embraced. Language is in a constant state of reimagination and redefinition, and the language used by PVAC will likely evolve.
