The Winston School's TVAA art competition is a survey of amazing young talent! The TVAA competition is open to all high school students in the state of Texas. (All work will need to be hand delivered and picked up in person. In some cases, we can accept mailed in accepted entries.) Around 50-75 works will be selected from more than an anticipated 500 submissions. The exhibition shows the vast range of young talent in Texas, in all imaginable media. Juried by artist Sam Lao, there will be awards for first, second, and third place winners in this art competition.
Application Requirements
Artists are asked to submit one (jpeg) image of your work to CaFÉ along with a brief artist statement and description of your work.

An image of 2D or 3D artwork, and a submission fee of $5 per entry will be required.
Submissions will occur through CaFÉ starting on November 19, 2021.
Teachers and students are allowed to submit art through CaFÉ. A free account will need to be created through CaFÉ.

Submissions are for current high school students. All art should be completed in the year 2021 or 2022, and have not been shown in prior TVAA art competitions.
All art must be original and submitted online only using a high quality image.
Accepted forms of art for the 2022 TVAA HS Art Competition:
Painting. Drawing. Photography. Mixed Media. Sculpture. Ceramics. Digital Media. Jewelry. Watercolor. Printmaking. Work on Paper. Work on Canvas. Collage. (Videos/Films not accepted.)
All work will need a title and will need to have a specified medium. (CaFÉ will lead you through this process.)
Teachers and/or students will need to submit student art one at a time through CaFÉ. Bulk entries are not applicable. Each entry is $5. One entry per student.
Guidelines for Art:
All 2D work must not exceed 36in x 36in. All 3D work should be no larger than 24in around the entire object/surface. No glass. Plexi must be used if framing. All work must be ready to hang using wire and d-rings. No saw tooth hanging allowed.
Eligibility Criteria
TVAA is open to all Texas high school students! Please know that the art exhibition takes place in Dallas, Texas at The Winston School of Dallas. While accepted entries may be mailed in, all artwork will need to be physically picked-up on March 24, 2022 by 9pm. Students must be currently enrolled in high school.
