A NATIONAL CALL FOR ART IN ALL MEDIA

Open to all artists, aged 18 or older, residing in the US

Webster Arts invites art submissions for our Open Theme Annual 2022 artists are encouraged to submit 2D & 3D work on any theme. Send us your best work! No floor or ceiling-hung installations are possible at this time. No video.

Webster Arts is a growing regional non-profit arts center that hosts national juried exhibitions in its 2000 square-foot gallery, a nationally ranked juried art fair, art outreach for recent refugees, a plein air competition, an autumn music series, and other community events. Our patrons are sophisticated art consumers. An independent juror will select work for inclusion in the exhibit and for cash prizes ($250 Best in Show, two $100 Awards of Excellence.) Sales are encouraged.

Monday, Dec. 6, 2021: Submission deadline
Friday, Dec. 17, 2021: All artists notified by email
Jan. 11-12, 2022: In-person delivery of artwork during office hours, 9 am -4:30 pm
Wednesday, January 12, 2022: Deadline to receive shipped artwork
Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 6-8 p.m.: Exhibit Opening Reception

$25 for up to three entries

ELIGIBILITY
The exhibition is open to artists age 18 and older, residing in the US or abroad. Work created under instruction is not eligible.

JUROR
Mee Jey is a multidisciplinary Indian artist concerned with lived experiences. Mee focuses on the collective politico-cultural identity and experiences and community engagement through her immersive installations, performances, relational art projects, and time-based media.  She is McDonnell International Scholar (2017-19) and Legislative Professional Fellow, (USA (2017), RAC Community Arts Fellow and recipient of Sam Fox Dean Travel grant (2018 & 2019), Future Fund Grant, ASAP Pulitzer Grant, and RAC Relief Fund and, Rajasthan State Acknowledgement Award, India.  She has shown her works in St. Louis and New Delhi. She is based out of St. Louis.

Application Requirements

SPECIFICATIONS
The exhibition will consist of two- and three-dimensional work in any medium. Wall pieces must be wired for hanging and no larger than 48″ X 48″ and weigh no more than 20 lbs. Free-standing pieces on pedestals may not exceed 32″ X 32″ X 60″ or weigh more than 40 lbs. Accepted work cannot be substituted and must be available for the duration of the exhibit. No floor or ceiling installed work. No video.

All work must be the original conception and execution of the artist listed on the application. No reproductions. Please do not submit work that has been exhibited in any Webster Arts gallery in the past, including Paint Webster.

SUBMISSION
Submit up to three JPEG digital images of the work. 

Upload options for image files:

File dimensions: 1000 to 1920 pixels on the longest side

File resolution: 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution)

File size: 5 MB maximum

SHIPPING/DELIVERY OF ARTWORK
The artist is responsible for the cost of shipping or mailing artwork to and from Webster Arts using FedEx, UPS, or DHL. A pre-paid return shipping label must be included with the artwork. Artwork may also be hand-delivered to and picked up from Webster Arts on the appropriate dates during the scheduled times. Do not send stamps.

INSURANCE AND SALE OF ARTWORK
All artwork is insured for its declared value from the time it is received through the time it is picked up by the carrier. Artists are responsible for insuring artwork during transit. Webster Arts receives a 30% commission on all exhibition sales. Sales are encouraged.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographs of accepted artwork may be used for promotional purposes.
