WHEAT RIDGE MEET THE ARTIST SERIES REQUIREMENTS Images – 4 Required No Entry Fee ARTIST ELIGIBILITY • Open to artists whose primary residence or artist’s studio is in Wheat Ridge, CO • Artists will be chosen based on the quality of their artwork, their professionalism, their general appeal, their ability to present their work in a public setting as well as their desire to educate the public about their work. • All media types accepted EXHIBITION DETAILS Art shows will be the first or third Thursday of a preselected month - October 2012 through May 2014. The artist will exhibit their work at a Wheat Ridge business and give a presentation to the public about their work. ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS • Applications must be completed and submitted online via the CaFÉ system at www.callforentry.org • Online applications will be accepted through August 31, 2013 • Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted SUBMISSION MATERIALS • Artist Statement (one paragraph, maximum of 2000 characters) • Letter to the Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission expressing why you are interested in participating in this series • Four digital images representing your body of work JURY PROCESS Work submitted to the Wheat Ridge Meet The Artist Series will be juried by the CaFÉ System using high-resolution digital images. Images must be accurate representations of the work. Accepted work that differs significantly from the images may be rejected at the discretion of the Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission. ACCEPTED WORK • Notification of accepted work will be ongoing until October 31, 2013 • Artists are responsible for transit and insurance of accepted work to and from the venue • The Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission reserves the right to photograph and distribute any images of work in the Meet The Artist event for education or publicity via electronic or print media of any kind • Artists must indicate if their work is for sale or not. If work is for sale, the retail price must be listed. Also, artist is responsible for any applicable sales tax. ABOUT WHEAT RIDGE CULTURAL COMMISSION The Cultural Commission was created to promote culture and the arts in the City of Wheat Ridge and foster cultural enrichment and education opportunities for the citizens of Wheat Ridge.
