Woodwalk Gallery, one of Wisconsin’s premier galleries, is looking to host its second virtual, online exhibition during March and April, 2022 providing exposure for amateur and professional artists alike.  We want to see art that expresses your vision of a Magical Mysterious Tour embodying but not limited to such concepts as subtlety, nature, conceptual, portal, journey, internal, external, parallel universe, air, water, earth, fire, colors associated to the 4 elements circles, cleansing, balance between light and dark, renewal. Prize winners will be given a chance to display their winning works during the opening two months of the 2022 Door County, WI. art season. The theme is broad and we encourage all artistic styles, genres, methodologies; in sum, your best work.  The competition is open to all 2D and 3D (sculpture) artists residing in the USA. The artist can work in all forms of painting, drawing, print making, photography, hand pulled prints, collages, graphics, digital arts and sculpture.

Prize money: 1st Place $500; 2nd Place $300; 3rd Place $150; Gallery Director's award $100

In addition, the prize winning artists will be given the opportunity to submit their winning entry plus one additional piece (two total) for display and sale in the gallery from April 16 through June 30, 2022.  Display, shipping information and commission fees will be sent to the winners after their selection.

This is a virtual exhibition that will be housed on the gallery’s website during the months of March and April 2022.  The show will be promoted through the gallery's social media outlets as well as their email bank, having a combined  total of approximately 3000 names or followers.  Each artist will have their own page in the show and viewers who click on the artist’s piece will be shown contact information for possible sale.  100% of the sale of any piece will go to the artist unless the artist would prefer that Woodwalk Gallery broker the sale.  In such case a fee of 25% will be retained by the gallery.

Entries and payment can only be accepted through the Cafe website prior to 11:59pm (Mountain Time, Denver) on January 31, 2022

For the juror’s convenience, we would suggest each entrant state the media used, such as acrylic paint, pastel, digital photograph, etc. after the title on the Cafe application.  We believe because of the breadth of media available that this will assist the juror in his/her judging process.

Notification of acceptance to the artists will be during the 3rd week in February via valid email provided by each artist. If no email is provided, notification will be via United States Postal Service only to those artists that have been accepted into the virtual exhibition. Submitting artists are encouraged to make sure the email provided with the application is correct. If a mistake is made, you will not be notified.

Our juror for this show is Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead, Executive Director Miller Art Museum, Sturgeon Bay, Door County, WI.  She was previously Executive Director, Hardy Gallery Ephraim, Wisconsin, and her educational background is in museum studies and arts management.
