The Dalton Gallery of Agnes Scott College presents a juried exhibition of work by young emerging artists from the Atlanta area- &yet again.

In January 2020 the Dalton Gallery of Agnes Scott College presented a juried exhibition of work by young emerging artists from the Atlanta area in collaboration with community partners. &yet sought to connect and foster conversations among young artists from communities around Atlanta. Thanks to our partnerships we were able to waive application fees in an effort to create an accessible opportunity for young artists as well as award cash prizes to artists selected by Agnes Scott faculty and jurors Veronica Kessenich, Director of the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, Yu-Kai Lin, Owner and Director of Kai-Lin Art, and Joseph Peragine, artist and Director of the Ernest G Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University.

We are excited to announce that &yet will be returning in January 2022!

For &yet again we are expanding on the ideas presented in the first exhibition and augmenting the exhibition with a few new ideas we see as crucial to emerging artists.

The application fee for this exhibition has been waived as an initiative to limit restrictions for applying for young artists.

As a part of this exhibition, six $500 awards will be given out through juror’s awards and publicly selected people’s choice awards.

This exhibition builds connections between artists of all backgrounds as well as members of the arts community. This exhibition will be juried by a panel of Atlanta Arts Leaders.

This exhibition is made possible by the James T and Ella Rather Kirk fund.

ELIGIBILITY

Emerging artists working in and around Atlanta are invited to apply to participate in a juried exhibition of visual works of all mediums. Artwork will be chosen from submitted entries by a panel of three jurors on the basis of creative excellence and quality of execution.

• All works must be original.

• Works must be ready for hanging with any necessary hardware in place.

• Works must be fully realized and available to show for the duration of the exhibition- proposals and incomplete work will not be considered.

• Video presentations are eligible, but the gallery does not offer facilities for projection. Any selected videos will be shown on a flat screen or computer monitor.

AGREEMENT

Submitting an entry form to this exhibition through Call for Entries (www.callforentry.org) constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist with all conditions set forth in this prospectus. No work accepted for the exhibition may be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition. After acceptance, the artist cannot substitute another work for the accepted work.

The Dalton Gallery reserves the right to refuse to install any work that, upon arrival at the Dalton Gallery, differs markedly from the images submitted or that does not, for any reason, meet the exhibition's standards of excellence.

By submitting images of your work, you give permission to the Dalton Gallery to use the images for publicity in the organization’s website, digital publications, press releases,  publications (both print and electronic), and online catalog of the exhibition.

Sales will not be the focus of this exhibition- the gallery will assist and help facilitate purchases by interested parties, but ultimately this responsibility falls upon the artist.

ENTRY ETIQUETTE

Please understand that space is limited and if your work is accepted, another artist's has been denied. Accepted artwork is an integral part of the layout and overall aesthetic theme of the show. If you withdraw your accepted work, you are not only disturbing the balance sought by the jurors and installers, but also denying another artist the opportunity to exhibit their work. Please be considerate and do not submit the work you are submitting to the &yet again to multiple shows with overlapping schedules.

LIABILITY

All reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure protection of submitted work upon receipt. Work will be insured for the duration of the exhibition. No liability can be assumed by the Dalton Gallery during storage or by sponsors or personnel connected to the exhibition for damage incurred or loss of work while in transit. Artists are advised to arrange their own shipping insurance.

HOW TO ENTER

All entries are to be submitted digitally through www.callforentry.org (CaFÉ). Please retain a copy of the information you provide on the entry form. See Exceptions Below.

The organizer:

The Dalton Gallery of Agnes Scott College is a teaching gallery located in the heart of the Fine Arts Building on ASC’s campus. Agnes Scott officially opened the Dalton Gallery in the Charles A. Dana Fine Arts Building on October 24, 1965.  Named in honor of Harry L. Dalton and his wife, Mary Keesler Dalton, ’25, the gallery forms the central public area on the main floor of the building. The opening event featured an exhibition of fifty-five paintings which Mr. and Mrs. Dalton had given to Agnes Scott to augment the college’s permanent art collection.  Today, the Dalton Gallery works closely with the Department of Art & Art History, recognizing the inherent expressive value of art, its enrichment of the human experience, and the dependence of global culture on visual literacy.
