  • Art must remain in the exhibition for the duration of the show, even if sold. This exhibition is open for 52 days.

IN ADDITION TO THESE REQUIREMENTS IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES BELOW VERY CAREFULLY, ESPECIALLY WHERE THEY RELATE TO NAMING YOUR IMAGES FOR THIS EXHIBITION, AND DIRECTIONS FOR SHIPPING.

Procedures and Details

  • Submission for this exhibition is handled exclusively through CaFÉ. All submitted artwork must be uploaded to this site. One to three pieces of artwork can be submitted. Artists who encounter technical difficulties can request help from CaFÉ staff at cafe@westaf.org.  Questions related to the exhibit can be sent to the show chair, Beth Barger via email at 2022juriedexhibition@fineartsleagueofcary.org.
  • The artwork images you submit via the CaFÉ portfolio must be specifically named (or renamed) for this exhibition. Please follow this  format:  you will use your initials to name your entries. If your name is John Edward Doe, the three entries are named JED1, JED2, and JED3. If you are only submitting one entry, please still title the image using a number, which in this example would be JED1. This procedure may require you to reload your image for renaming purposes. This is a most important first step, which is required for a fair competition.
  • It is very important that artists upload only one photo for each piece of art being submitted. Thus, if the artist submits one piece, they will submit only one photo, or two photos for two pieces of art, etc. Please check that the artwork is properly oriented in the photo, that the frame or other peripheral objects are not included.  Attention should also be given to the keystone effect and glare, which are common issues in photographing artwork. The exhibition juror will select the participating pieces from these digital photographs; the prize winners will be selected from the original art.
  • CaFÉ has specific requirements regarding the file sizes of the photo submitted. Follow their directions or contact their staff. In short, photos cannot exceed 5MB and the resolution must be 72dpi.
  • Please include this information on the back of your accepted artwork:  your name, title of your piece, code name (i.e. JED1), medium (list all mediums used), price, email address, phone number. For your convenience, you may use the tag at the end of this prospectus. FALC will use this information to correctly identify your piece.
  • VERY IMPORTANT PROCEDURES FOR SHIPPED ART:  Artwork that is shipped should arrive at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center in good condition and ready to hang. Please use UPS or FedEx to ship your piece. Use sturdy boxes; Masterpak or Airfloat are recommended. Do not include packing peanuts, glass, or use more than 6 inches of tape inside the box. Please do not plan on Saturday afternoon or Sunday delivery times, as the center is closed. Artwork will not be returned by post if a pre-paid return label is not included. Send artwork to:  FALC, c/o Page-Walker Arts and History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop, Cary, NC, 27513.
