CPAC’s Annual Members’ Show
Call for Entries – Deadline: April 8, 2022

The Colorado Photographic Arts Center announces its annual juried members’ photography exhibition. This year’s juror is Gregory Harris, the Donald and Marilyn Keough Curator of Photography at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The exhibition will be a survey of new work made by CPAC members, and is intended to highlight the creative talents of CPAC’s constituency. There is no theme. The show is open to current, registered members of the organization only.

Awards

  • Best in Show Purchase Award: receives $300 and the selected image becomes part of CPAC’s permanent photography collection.
  • Director’s Choice: $100 award
  • Honorable Mention Awards

All awardees will receive a printed copy of the exhibition catalog.

DEADLINES & INFORMATION

Applicant submission deadline: Friday, April 8, 2022 (midnight MDT)

Application notifications sent: Friday, April 29, 2022

Accepted work to gallery: Friday, June 24, 2022

Exhibition dates: July 1 – August 6, 2022

Opening Reception & Award ceremony scheduled for: Saturday, July 9, 2022, 5 - 8pm

Fees: First three images are free for current members; $5 for each additional image. If you’re not a member, pay the $50 entry fee and you will receive a free CPAC membership at the Individual level (1-year).

JUROR
Gregory Harris is the Donald and Marilyn Keough Curator of Photography at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. He is a specialist in contemporary photography with a particular interest in documentary practice. Since joining the High in 2016, Harris has curated over a dozen exhibitions including Picturing the South: 25 Years, Way Out There: The Art of Southern Backroads and Look Again: 40 Years of Collecting Photographs as well as solo shows with Thomas Struth, Paul Graham, and Amy Elkins. In 2018, he led the expansion and installation of the Photography Department’s new permanent collection galleries. Harris is currently working on the exhibitions Truth Told Slant, and Evelyn Hofer: Eyes on the Street. Before joining the High, Harris was the Assistant Curator at the DePaul Art Museum in Chicago. He previously held curatorial positions in the Photography Department at the Art Institute of Chicago. Harris has also contributed essays to monographs by Matthew Brandt, Paul D’Amato, Amy Elkins, Jill Frank, and the Metabolic Studio. He earned a BFA in photography from Columbia College Chicago, and an MA in art history from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

ENTRY GUIDELINES
If you have any questions about the guidelines please call 303-837-1341 or email info@cpacphoto.org. The code can be acquired during normal business hours of the gallery before the deadline for entry.

Current members will receive an email with a code to submit. Or members can call 303-837-1341 or email info@cpacphoto.org for the code. You must be a current CPAC member to enter. If you are not a member of CPAC you can become one online or pay the entry fee and you will become a CPAC member.

Final exhibition sizes must be specified, if the work is framed include that in the size.

The Gallery also understands that work may be presented in a non-traditional way that is integral to the art. Please contact us in advance if you feel your work fits into these criteria. 

The gallery must receive artwork no later than Friday, June 24, 2022. CPAC will charge a 30% sales commission.

Eligibility Criteria

ELIGIBILITY
All lens-based media are eligible, including but not limited to images made by film or video camera, scanner, screen-capture, digital camera, and any means of mobile photography. Entry is open to regional, national, and international members of CPAC.
