Since 1996 our annual PRC Members juried show, EXPOSURE, has exhibited work by more than 400 photographers including an array of those established and emerging in the field. Each year a respected member of the photographic community—from curators to gallerists to publishers—is asked to select between 10 to 15 artists for exhibition. The juror then selects between 2 and 4 pieces per artist, thus offering an opportunity to showcase work at a deeper level than most juried shows, and making for a more enriching experience for audiences.

The EXPOSURE 2024 juror is Samantha Johnston, Executive Director & Curator, Colorado Photographic Arts Center.

Entries are being accepted from April 1st through May 15th, 2024. Photographers working in a broad range of exhibition-ready bodies of work are encouraged to apply, including traditional and non-traditional approaches to photography.

TIMELINE:
April 1: Application opens
May 15 (11:59pm): Application deadline
June 5 – 9: Exhibitor notification
July 29 – August 2: Delivery of work
August 9 – September 29: Exhibition dates
September 28: Gallery reception, 5 – 7pm
October 3 – 4: Deinstall and return shipping

Application Requirements

For a non-refundable entry fee of $35, photographers may submit 3-6 images from a cohesive, exhibition-ready body of work, along with checklist information, artist statement, and resume.

MAXIMUM size of work: 48″ for the largest dimension (width, height, depth).

IF YOU ARE APPLYING WITH UNFRAMED, 3D, OR INSTALLATION BASED WORK:
A detailed description of the work must be included with the artist statement. Full dimensions, materials, method of installation, etc.

Follow all instructions provided by CaFÉ for preparing your images, checklist, statement, resume, etc. Complete guidelines for uploading images can be found here: https://artist.callforentry.org/image_prep.phtml. Incorrectly formatted or corrupted files will not be reviewed.

Applicants are required to adhere to all published schedules, specifications, and guidelines.

IF YOU ARE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE:
Selected and non-selected artists will be notified through CaFÉ via email. We expect notifications to go out between June 5th and 9th. No phone calls please.

Selected artists are responsible for packing (in a reusable container; we recommend bubble wrap with cardboard, and absolutely no peanuts) and arranging for delivery and retrieval to the exhibition space. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and transit insurance of works to AND from the gallery in a timely manner. If work is being shipped, prior arrangements MUST be made with the PRC.

Artists must be available to provide help with unique installations and/or supply any special hardware and/or specific instructions if required for proper installation. The PRC reserves the right to refuse works whose quality does not match submission materials and will not hang works that are defective.

The PRC requests 30% commission from any work sold during the exhibition. A loan form agreement will be sent once photographers are selected and works are finalized.
