Call for Exhibition Proposals
Radford University Art Museum is seeking proposals for exhibitions to be held from 2025 to 2028 in our three main campus galleries, Tyler Gallery (214 Tyler Ave.), Covington Gallery (a premier, vaulted space in the Covington Center for the Arts), and the ARTIS Center gallery (room 302) adjacent to the Dean’s Suite in the brand new Adaptive Center for Innovation.
About Radford University Art Museum: RUAM
The Radford University Art Museum (RUAM) is dedicated to creating a welcoming and enriching environment where students, the university community and the public can engage with and learn from original works of art. Since its establishment, RUAM has been committed to promoting visual literacy as part of a comprehensive education, offering programming that is both locally connected and globally relevant.
The Art Museum hosts 14 to 18 exhibitions per year in three gallery spaces, including solo exhibitions of contemporary artists, historical and curated exhibits, national and regional juried group exhibitions, and shows for university and high school students and the community at large.
RUAM is pleased to have held exhibitions and speaking events for renowned artists, including Jeanne-Claude, Audrey Flack, Dorothy Gillespie, Sam Gillaim, Richard Hunt, and more. The Radford University Art Museum holds a permanent collection of approximately 2,500 works, including 200+ student pieces and notable collections from prominent estates, foundations, and artists, including Warhol, Picasso, and the largest collection of Wixárika and Mithila-Dalit artworks in the United States. These works are housed on the premises and displayed publicly throughout campus, and loaned to other institutions for exhibition.
